Course Overview
Overview:
This qualification is aimed at those who may be interested in learning about an adult social care setting. It introduces knowledge and understanding of the principles of working in adult social care, including the underpinning values, job roles and settings.
Structure:
To achieve the QCF Level 1 Award in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings, learners must achieve a minimum of 10 credits. To do this, learners must achieve 6 credits from the mandatory units in and a minimum of 4 credits from the optional units.
Mandatory units:
- Understand the Range of Service Provision and Roles within Health and Social Care (Adults and Children and Young People), Early Years and Childcare
- Understand the Principles and Values in Health and Social Care (Adults and Children and Young People), Early Years and Childcare
Progression:
It is anticipated that learners will progress to the Level 2 Diploma for Health and Social Care.
Duration:
Flexible study but could be completed within 1 to 5 days with the inclusion of a free training session.
