Overview:
This qualification provides an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills around supporting individuals with a learning disability. It is aimed at learners who support individuals with a learning disability as part of their job role, not necessarily in the health or social care sector. The Certificate provides the opportunity for CPD. The units offered within this Certificate mirror those offered within the Learning Disabilities Pathway through the HSC Diploma in England.
Structure:
To achieve the full BTEC Level 2 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities (QCF), learners must achieve 12 credits. To do this they must achieve four credits from mandatory and a minimum of eight credits. A minimum of seven credits must be achieved at Level 2.
Progression:
There is opportunity to progress to a Level 3 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities, and/or the Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (QCF).
Duration:
Flexible study but could be completed within 3 to 5 days.
