Course Overview

Course Aim:

The purpose of the course is to introduce a greater awareness of the hazards of fire, how it spreads, to recognise the threat to persons and property, to understand why fire emergency procedures are implemented and to distinguish between the different types of extinguishers and the fires they are best suited for.

It has now become mandatory for all employed staff to be trained in the use of basic fire fighting equipment and fire prevention as defined in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

• Legislation Relevant to Fire Safety at Work
• Basic Principles of Fire (Fire Triangle)
• Principles of Heat Transmission and Fire Spread
• Common Causes and Preventative Measures for Fire
• Types and Uses of Fire Fighting Equipment
• Actions on Smoked Filled Rooms
• Fire Action Plan (Specific to the establishment)
• Record keeping

Course Duration:

Online: The timing and duration is flexible to your requirement.
In-house: This course is run over a period of 2 hours. Minimum of 8 delegates required.

Course Certification:

An attendance certificate is awarded on completion of the course.
