Course Overview
Course Aim:
The Infection Control course will benefit those working directly with patients/clients in health and social care environment. Infection Control Training helps care workers recognise the causes of infection and help them to assess the risks that their actions have on the health of their patients/clients whether that is in residential care or in their own homes in the private or public care sectors.
Course Content:
Successful completion of the infection control training programme and assessment will enable candidate to:
- Understand the terminology used in good hygiene practice
- Relationship of hazard and risk in prioritising action
- Relevant legislation relating to hygiene practice
- Concepts of hygiene hazards and infection control
- Importance of good personal hygiene
- Need for high standards of cleanliness to help prevent infection
- Controls and procedures
Course Duration:
Online: The timing and duration is flexible to your requirement.
In-house: This course is run over a period of 2 hours. Minimum of 8 delegates required.

Course Certification:
A certificate of attendance is awarded on successful completion of the infection control course.
