This qualification provides an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills around supporting individuals with a learning disability. It is aimed at learners who support individuals with a learning disability as part of their job role, not necessarily in the health or social care sector.

The Certificate provides the opportunity for CPD. The units offered within this Certificate mirror those offered within the Learning Disabilities Pathway through the HSC Diploma in England.

To achieve the Level 3 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities (QCF), learners must gain a minimum of 12 credits. To do this they must achieve:

• 4 credits from mandatory units
• A minimum of 8 credits from core units
• A minimum of 7 credits

It is anticipated that learners will progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF) or Pearson Edexcel Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People`s Services (England) (QCF).

Flexible study but could be completed within 1 to 3 months.
