Course Overview
This Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults course looks at recognizing and alerting others to suspected abuse. SVA training is targeted towards staff involved in the delivery of direct care provision to vulnerable adults in residential and domiciliary care settings.
The SVA course covers the Care Quality Commission and Skills for Care requirements. This course meets Standard 5 of Skills for Care: Recognise and respond to abuse and neglect.

- Define Abuse/at risk groups
- Name forms and types of abuse
- strategies to protect adults at risk
- monitor individuals at risk
- Identify the process for reporting and protecting adults at risk (whistleblowing)
- Discuss organisational responsibilities
- Access current legislation guidance
- Policies and procedures
