Course Overview
The Training Assessment and Quality Assurance- TAQA, also known Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (QCF) is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment). Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to assess vocational competencies in a wide range of qualifications such as: Apprenticeships, Diplomas, Certificates, Awards, Technical Certificates, Functional Skills and QCFs
Successful achievement of this qualification will provide sufficient evidence that you have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to enable you to assess within vocational education and training using a range of assessment methods.
This is a qualification of 15 credits consisting of the following mandatory units:
- Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
- Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding
- Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment
Once learners have achieved this Award they can progress to the following qualifications:
- Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
- Level 4 Award in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
Other information: Candidates will need to:
- Have access to at least 2 QCF candidates at a level appropriate to their own competency to be able to assess them on a total of 3 units
- Be able show competency in their own field of work with a relevant qualification
